Early Childhood Education in WPS

  • Westminster Public Schools is a standards-based system designed to focus student learning on the achievement of specific age-appropriate standards in order to progress at their own pace. All of our Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs focus the curriculum on the mastery of the Readiness level, which has been closely aligned with state school readiness indicators as well as the Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines. Learn more about our ECE programs and progress in our latest education report above.

  • Mission / Vision

The goals of our program are closely aligned with our district preschool mission statement of “Building a Positive Foundation to Learn, Live, Play, and Prepare for Kindergarten.”

We provide a high quality, play-based early childhood program that prepares the whole child for success in elementary school. In addition, it is our goal to empower our parents with programs and information in their native language to be advocates for their children as they enter the school system. Research supports the benefit of positive social/emotional and literacy competency of parents positively impacting school success.
