Westminster Public Schools, along with other districts across the state, have been preparing for the transition to a new assessment program named PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) and CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success).  The PARCC assessment measures our learners’ progress within the Common Core State Standards for Math and English Language Arts (ELA) with a focus on critical thinking and problem solving while CMAS measures knowledge in Science and Social Studies. These assessments will replace the more familiar assessment called TCAP.

The assessments will be administered on-line and within two different testing windows.  The first round of assessments for the 2016-2017 school year will be April 4th to April 28th. CMAS testing will be April 10th-28th.

Since the assessment is on-line, it is essential that our learners continue to practice and improve their keyboarding and navigation skills on a computer.  Any assistance with this at home is greatly appreciated.
