Education & Experience
My name is Rachael Hughes and I teach Middle School Science. I am thrilled to return to CSA and just love the passion our staff and students! I have been an educator for nearly 13 years, teaching science and as an instructional coach. In 2010, I was 1 of 50 teachers nationwide awarded the Siemens STEM Institute fellowship, as a leader in STEM education for the state of Colorado. I love to challenge students to innovate, invent and ignite their passion for learning and leading by supporting students in real-world experiences and community partnerships. I earned both my Bachelor of Science and Masters in Education from Colorado State University. I also completed the Ritchie program for school leaders for the University of Denver. Let's get our STEM on!!
About Me & My Family
I grew up the daughter of an Air Force father and spent my childhood in various places around the world. I am certain these experiences shaped who I am and my passion for supporting students to get out and learn through hands-on inquiry project-based learning. When I am not teaching, I am spend time with my family at the hockey rink and soccer field cheering my boys on. In my free time, I love to be outdoors, paint, and write!
