About Our Principal

Roger Vadeen is the proud principal of Sunset Ridge Elementary. Mr. Vadeen has been in education for 28 years. He was a teacher at the elementary level for ten years. He has been an assistant principal and principal for 18 years. This is Mr. Vadeen’s 16th year serving as the principal of Sunset Ridge. In 2013, Mr. Vadeen was a Top 3 Finalist for the National Distinguished Principal Program’s Principal of the Year Award.

"It has been a great honor to be able to lead Sunset Ridge Elementary for the past 13 years. I am very grateful to the Sunset Ridge community for the trust and confidence they have in my leadership of this wonderful school. Over the course of the years, I have seen thousands of students getting a first-class education at Sunset Ridge. In 2014, the State of Colorado and the Colorado Department of Education recognized Sunset Ridge as a recipient of the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. In 2015, we were awarded a $30,000 grant by the Foundation for Great Schools for our success with students. The Foundation for Great Schools commended Sunset Ridge as a school of excellence where outstanding things were being achieved for students. It is with pleasure that I continue to serve as the principal of this excellent school. The students of Sunset Ridge Elementary are lucky to have such a great team of educators working hard for their benefit.

Sobre Nuestro Director

Roger Vadeen es el orgulloso director de la Escuela Primaria Sunset Ridge. El Sr. Vadeen ha estado en la educación por 25 años. Fue maestro de escuela primaria por 10 años. Ha sido director auxiliar y director por 17 años. Este es el  15 año del Sr. Vadeen como director de Sunset Ridge. En el 2013, el Sr. Vadeen fue uno de los 3 finalistas del Programa de Director Nacional Distinguido del Premio al Director de Año.

Ha sido un gran honor dirigir la Escuela Primaria Sunset Ridge por los últimos 13 años. Estoy muy agradecido a la comunidad de Sunset Ridge por la fe y confianza que tienen en Sunset Ridge y en mi liderazgo en esta maravillosa escuela. Durante estos años, he visto a miles de estudiantes recibir una educación de primera clase en Sunset Ridge. En el 2014, el Estado de Colorado y el Departamento de Colorado reconocieron a Sunset Ridge con el Premio del Gobernador por Mejoras Distinguidas. En el 2015, se nos otorgó una subvención de $30,000 de la Fundación para Grandes Escuelas por nuestro éxito con los estudiantes. La Fundación para Grandes Escuelas felicito a Sunset Ridge como escuela de excelencia donde los estudiantes estaban alcanzando cosas estupendas. Es un placer seguir sirviendo como director de esta escuela excelente. Los estudiantes de la Escuela Primaria Sunset Ridge, tienen la suerte de tener un gran equipo de educadores trabajando fuerte para su beneficio.
