The Daniel C. Vallez Family Education Center will meet the needs of students and their families with services ranging from language support to general health care. The WPS Board of Education created the center believing that when the needs of students and their families are met, students do better in school and in life. Vallez, who worked as both an assistant principal and principal in the district, was also passionate about family services and ran the “VOICES” program for the district before retiring in 2010.
Dan died shortly after retiring from Westminster Public Schools, but his values and commitment to all students lives on through the center. Superintendent Pam Swanson described Dan as a community builder.
