Author "Visits" Flynn

  • On December 13th, 2016, Flynn Elementary enjoyed their first Skype Author Visit.

     

    The visit, organized by Flynn Librarian Cindi Qualls, was offered through Scholastic Book Fairs and was paid for with Scholastic Dollars earned through our Book Fair.

     

    The author, Max Brallier (www.maxbrallier.com) lives in New York City and is the author of more than 20 books and games. The fourth and fifth graders loved the fact that he also writes for several show on the Cartoon Network. The students were very engaged as he showed his office: a closet (New York City style)!  He talked to students about the writing process, publishing, and how he gets his ideas for writing. We had fifteen students ready with questions which Mr. Brallier answere; students spent around an hour talking to him.

     

    As part of the event, all students who attended the Skype session left with an autographed copy of one of his chapter books!  Flynn is thankful to Mr. Braller, Scholastic, and our very own Cindi Qualls for the amazing experience offered to students!
