Sherrelwood Elementary

Dedicated to excellence in education

Announcements:

  • Dear Westminster Public Schools Community and Staff,

I just finished an important meeting with our Board of Education where we again reviewed our community COVID-19 numbers and the trends continue to move in the wrong direction.

As a result, beginning Monday, November 2, we will go to an all-remote learning platform for a two-week period and then return to in-person learning on Monday, November 16.

We are hopeful that the “Level 3 - Safer at Home” Adams County restrictions that took effect earlier this evening, based on an order from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, will reverse the upward trend.
I consulted with Tri-County Health’s Executive Director, Dr. John Douglas, this afternoon and he fully supports this plan.

Tomorrow, the district will be sending out more information about our plans to support remote learning, fully sanitize our schools and continue to provide important food services to our families.

Students and staff who are already under quarantine because of COVID-19 will return with everyone else on Monday, November 16.

I can’t stress enough the importance of keeping our students in the classroom. If we all step up right now, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 and ensure that our students continue their education in an environment that is safe for them and WPS staff.

    Kindest regards,
    Dr. Pamela Swanson
    Superintendent of Schools

    Saludos cordiales,
    Dra. Pamela Swanson
    Superintendente de escuelas
