Community Response to Injured OPA Student Captures Holiday Spirit

Eight-year-old Orchard Park Academy (OPA) student Stefan is now home in Denver and at Children’s Hospital recovering from devastating injuries from a horseback riding accident in Belize.

He was flown in late Sunday night with the help of generous community members and a medivac company, Peak Medevac, which heard about his injuries on Denver7.

OPA teachers Carisa Olmos and Lauren Knott were at Centennial Airport to welcome Stefan home. The community response has captured the spirit of the holiday, and we want to thank all those members of the community who are supporting Stefan and his family.

We also want to thank the Westminster Public Schools Foundation for its support. You can make a donation to the WPS Foundation online here: http://www.fundWPS.org/
