Does your student love the creative or performing arts?
Westminster Public Schools (WPS) is trying something new this year by replacing the Celebrating Academic Excellence competition usually held on a Saturday, with Celebrating Excellence! This is an opportunity for select students to shine on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Westminster High School (WHS).
Sign your student up by Dec. 7 for a chance to have them audition with a drama, music or dance performance, or have your student's visual art or STEM project reviewed by the Celebrating Excellence! committee.
If your student is interested in showing off their talent in the areas of STEM, please use the following link to register them by Dec. 7. A Celebrating Excellence! team member will contact you to set up a time for judges to review your student's project. Students who qualify will be notified by Dec. 20. http://bit.ly/WPSCelebratingExcellenceSTEM
Visual art submissions will be reviewed by a committee in December, while performing arts auditions will be held on Dec. 17 and 18 at WHS. A Celebrating Excellence! team member will contact you regarding the date and time of your student's audition.
Students who qualify at their auditions or through the committee review will demonstrate their talent at the newly revamped WPS Celebrating Excellence! event on Jan. 16, 2019 at WHS.
The afternoon and evening of fun will include the annual spelling bee competition, which determines which students will move on to the state tournament. WPS students have talent, let’s show it off!
