Witness Students’ Wide Range of Talent at Celebrating Excellence!

Westminster Public Schools (WPS) is recognizing the diverse range of talent in our district at the inaugural Celebrating Excellence! showcase on Jan. 16 at Westminster High School from 5-8 p.m. This event is replacing the Celebrating Academic Excellence competition that was previously held on a Saturday. Click here to see the Celebrating Excellence! event flyer and schedule. Earlier in the day, our high school Career & Technical Education students will get the opportunity to participate in the second annual Westy’s Got Skills competition as preparation for regional, state and national competitions.

The evening will be packed with students demonstrating their talents within three strands:

  1. The district-wide Spelling Bee
  2. Performance and/or visual arts
  3. Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Math (S.T.E.M.)

Families can attend at no cost and enjoy art galleries, creative art performances, S.T.E.M displays and the annual spelling bee competition that determines which students will move on to the state tournament. If you are unable to attend the competition, you can view the livestream of the spelling bee here. Free cookies and lemonade will be provided, and a dinner menu will be available for purchase. Make sure to stick around 'til the end as a prize giveaway will occur at 7:45 p.m. for all guests who are present. WPS students have talent, let’s show it off!
