With 23 Westminster Public Schools (WPS) employees retiring this school year, WPS honored their combined 540 years of service with a Retirement Celebration on Monday, May 13 at the City Park Recreation Center in Westminster.

Retirees arrived at the Road Trip themed celebration and were given a large rose boutonniere and invited to enjoy an array of dishes from across the country like New England lobster rolls and Carolina chopped pork, all courtesy of WPS culinary team.

The Westminster High School (WHS) orchestra quartet played throughout the evening as retirees were shown to their table where they each received a customized crystal globe offering, “A World of Thanks” along with a scrapbook where guests could suggest bucket list items and sign their well wishes. Each retiree also received a bouquet of flowers in a mason jar that WHS Horticulture students created.
