In recognition of Westminster Public Schools (WPS) important partnership with Front Range Community College (FRCC), Superintendent Pam Swanson presented the school with the Corporate Citizen of the Year award from the Westminster Legacy Foundation. Dr. Pam Swanson at the Westminster Legacy Community Awards

Swanson presented the award Tuesday morning at the organization’s Community Awards Breakfast, which was hosted both in person and virtually.

The Westminster campus teaches approximately 2,000 students annually and has been the home of the North Metro Denver Small Business Development Center since 1988. FRCC also recently began offering its first bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Since 2014, FRCC’s concurrent enrollment program has allowed WPS students to earn more than 1,800 college credits while still attending high school.

“One of our students even earned an Associate’s Degree from FRCC along with his high school diploma,” said Sandy Steiner, Director of Post-Secondary and Workforce Readiness. “Results like that demonstrate the strength of FRCC as a partner in ensuring all of our students get access to the postsecondary credits they need to thrive.”
