To help the public better understand why Westminster Public Schools pushed forward with its plan to return students to the classroom, the district gave Colorado Public Radio (CPR) unique access to one of its classrooms for a series of reports on educating students during a pandemic.
Superintendent Dr. Pamela Swanson sent a message to the community encouraging people to listen, writing, “The students have been tremendous, and in listening you get a feel for our Competency Based System and our belief that every moment (even in a pandemic) presents a learning opportunity."
National Public Radio (NPR) has expressed interest in sharing the stories and last week, Phi Delta Kappan, the Professional Journal for Educators included the story in its analysis of how the media is covering the return to in-person learning.
