Westminster Public Schools is using new technology to allow parents and students to get a virtual look inside many of the district schools so they can get a better feel for what a school has to offer.
In addition to a 360-degree view of classrooms and facilities, visitors to the website can also view pre-recorded video messages from principals and staff describing what makes that school a unique place.
Half a dozen WPS schools now have 360º virtual tours available for people to view with more schools creating them.
You can find all of the complete school tours at WPStours.org.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional school tours are limited to after-hours when staff and students are not in the building. The web-based tours offer a new, visually intriguing option.
The 360º tours are a valuable marketing opportunity for Westminster Public Schools and information about the 360 tours is being shared with parents inside and outside of district boundaries.
“We know that parents have a lot of choices about where to send their children and this is a great use of technology to spread the word about what WPS has to offer,” said Steve Saunders, Chief Communications Officer for WPS. “We are an open enrollment district and principals tell me that when potential parents learn about our schools and educational approach they are very likely to enroll in our schools. This helps get the message out.”
