Five Education Support Professionals were honored as Outstanding Support Staff for the 2020-21 school year during the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, May 25. The honorees, family members and their nominators all attended the event.

The annual award was especially meaningful given the chaos and uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Level 5 student Breauja Davis was also on hand to read a message and present a bouquet of flowers.

“Delma has a unique skill set that allows her to build quality relationships with students, parents and staff.  Delma has been a jack of all trades for our school this year.  She works in the front office, covers classes, delivers lunches to classes, takes attendance, and most importantly mentors students.  She works one on one with students who are in need of a positive role model to talk to and to take a break with.  I have never asked Delma to do this.  Delma does this because she feels it's best for students.  You can walk by her room almost anytime and see her working with a student.”
