Two educators who bring passion to their work and impact students every day are Fred Award winners for the second quarter of 2022.
Jessica Read, Future Center School Counselor for middle school students and Kada Willy, science teacher at Colorado Sports Leadership Academy were honored by the Westminster Public Schools Board of Education during their May 10 meeting.

“Jessica is so conscientious and committed to helping students identify a pathway to their futures, that she has offered “makeup” sessions for students who were absent from class and has coordinated instruction with teachers and school counselors in her buildings in order to ensure every student is given the opportunity to be successful. Jessica is a data-driven educator who monitors student participation in every activity, student career choices and the shift in these career choices over time.”

Kada Willy is an incredible educator, advocate and human. She challenges students and staff to be the best version of themselves every day. She gives 110% all the time and is a key component to the success of CSLA and this district.
The Fred award is named after a Colorado mailman profiled in the book “The Fred Factor”written by author Mark Sanborn. The national bestseller explains, “passion in your work and life can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.”
In addition to being publicly recognized at the Board of Education meeting, recipients receive a copy of the book “The Fred Factor”, a lapel pin and an engraved trophy created by students at Colorado STEM Academy.
