Westy QB Mason Kiewiet is Named Prep Redzone National Player of the Week

In a runaway vote, Westminster High School quarterback Mason Kiewiet was selected as the Prep Redzone National Player of the Week for his standout performance on August 25 against the Far Northeast Warriors.

Kiewiet, who is a junior, accounted for 510 yards of total offense in a 50-48 win.  For the night, he was 17-24 throwing for 326 yards and 5 touchdowns, including the game-winning pass in the final seconds to Daigan Gray (see clip below.)

Kiewiet also rushed for 184 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Prep Red Zone Player of the week is picked by voters from across the country from among players who are nominated after a standout performance. Nearly half of the fans voted for Kiewiet.

After beating Rangeview 35 to 21 over the weekend, the Wolves are now 2-1 on the season.
