Westminster High School Music Teacher Honored with Arts and Culture Award

woman and man holding award

The Westminster Legacy Foundation honored our very own Westminster High School music teacher, Hannah Judson with the Arts and Culture Award at the Annual Community Awards Breakfast in November. Since 2018, the Foundation has honored only the most outstanding Westminster citizens, individuals, groups, businesses and organizations that are active in the Westminster community. Congratulations Hannah for all the great work you do for our Westy students!

According to Principal Kiffany Kiewiet, “Hannah Judson is simply a rockstar. Her sparkling personality mixed with her calm demeanor is what makes her one of our beloved teachers. She always puts students first and is constantly looking for ways to support her students in and out of the classroom. The Westminster High School community. We are so lucky to have her!”

Ms. Judson reminds all of us of the importance of music education in the lives of kids. “It was an honor to be chosen for the Arts and Culture Award. It is a privilege to be able to celebrate the talent and hard work of the students at Westminster High School, and to speak about how hard music educators in our district work to keep music alive,” said Judson.

“In accepting this award, I hope to celebrate their work as well as my own. I also encourage all community members to support music programs (and all arts) in Westminster Public Schools. Art is the heartbeat of culture, and we have so much culture to celebrate in our district.”

Last year’s winner was Mr. Michael Linert, Westy’s Orchestra, Band, and Mariachi Teacher proving once again that Westy has one of the best music programs around!
