Weekly Update December 17th-21st

It’s hard to believe this is the last weekly update I will write in 2018.  This first half of the school year our students have partnered with over 25 outside agencies, created countless presentations and projects, and has recently been recognized by the state of Colorado for earning the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award.  Our staff cannot be more proud of the hard work of our students.

Next week is early release and our PTA has partnered with Skate City to offer a fun community event with a Winter Wonderland theme including games, contests, and giveaways.  All students attending Skate City will need to submit a permission slip to the main office by Wednesday morning. While next week will be a regular academic week, our teachers and student council have included a little fun to help everyone feel the spirit of the season.

Monday- Holiday sweater or dress up

Tuesday- STEM attire

Wednesday-  STEM attire

Thursday- Pajama day for all students (team A in the middle school will celebrate on Wednesday due to a field trip)

Student Council is hosting a Kindness Week.  Starting on Monday, Random Acts of Kindness Cards will be traveling from student to student, as students display kindness towards each other.  Also, we have planned to have a school-wide penny race to raise money for the Colorado Pet Pantry. Elementary homerooms will be competing against each other to raise the most money. In the Middle School building, grade levels will compete against each other to win.  The Colorado Pet Pantry is a nonprofit organization that solicits pet food donations, stores the pet food, increases awareness of the pet food bank, engages volunteers, and distributes the donated/discounted pet food to families-in-need with pets during multiple monthly pet food banks in the Denver/Boulder-metro area.  Our students aim to help through this penny drive and the winning elementary homeroom and middle school grade level will receive dress-down day coupons to use at school.

Our students begin winter break on December 21st and should plan to return on January 7, 2019.  On behalf of our entire staff, we want to wish everyone a safe and happy winter break.

Please remember to visit our school website or the PTA website for more information as well as reading the attachments and, as always, thank you for your continued support of CSA!
