Weekly Update for October 21st-October 25th

Good Afternoon CSA Families,

Westminster Public Schools is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor visitor management system in all of our schools to strengthen our program of campus safety for students and staff.  The Raptor system will allow us to better screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers and provide an even safer learning environment. Beginning October 28th, all visitors planning to stop by classrooms or the lunchrooms will need to show a valid, government-issued ID to scan through this system.  Please view the attached letter for more information on this new program.

Dress up in your Halloween costumes and join us on the evening of October 22nd at Westminster High School for our Trick-or-Treat showcase.  Come and learn all about the various programs and activities offered in Westminster Public Schools while collecting lots and lots of candy! As a reminder, Thursday, October 31st is a regular day of school.  Our Student Council is planning a fun spirit week for October 29, 30, and 31st. Please look for more information coming home.

Conferences are next week.  Please check your child’s Thursday folder or the attachment for our conference schedule.  If you’re interested in bringing a dinner item for our hungry teachers on Monday evening of conference week, please click here.  As usual, our PTA will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please stop by Elementary Room 115 and see us! We will have opportunities to win books- no purchase necessary! We also still need help! Please take a look at our sign up genius and let us know if you can assist!  Please note that middle-schoolers also have an opportunity to help out if they'd like! If your student is interested, please sign yourself up and detail student name in comments! The "Fair Helpers" must all be adults! Thank you SO much in advance for supporting our fair! Shoppers and Volunteers collectively make this happen each year for our CSA community!!

You can support our WPS Foundation by purchasing a Major Saver card.  Students took home information for this easy fundraiser this week.

Student Council is organizing another Multicultural Fair in the elementary gym for November 7th, 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  At this event, any Colorado Stem Academy family may create a board to share information about a unique aspect of their family.  We, also, ask that families bring a food sampling to share. Please click on the link to sign-up.

Finally, the science fair is scheduled for January 10, 2020.  Students need to begin thinking about their projects and making necessary plans.  Please see the attachment for more information.

Please don’t forget to view the attachments including our middle school basketball tryouts and  more opportunities for our students and as always, thank you for your continued support of CSA!
