Do our students have what it takes?
You be the judge! Last year Westminster Public Schools held its first CTE competition, Westy’s Got Skills (WGS). Planning is underway for an even bigger and better event – we need your help! WGS provides an opportunity for our students to present their projects, compete against peers, and receive professional feedback on their projects before moving to the next level of competition. This unique opportunity for our community members, industry partners and district employees to engage with students in a competitive and supportive environment ensures the students are better prepared for regional and state-level competitions. Last year, in our first year of competition, we sent two teams to Nationals representing our Technical Student Association (TSA) and SkillsUSA organizations. This achievement would not have been possible without the guidance and support of our industry partners. You are invited to judge one Westy’s Got Skills this year! Please be a part of this exciting event and help shape the professionalism of students preparing for your industry at the same time! Come and spend the afternoon with us on January 16th. If interested, please submit your contact information using the link below.
This year's competition categories are listed below. You don't have to be an expert in the area to be a judge! Judges will attend a brief orientation starting at 1:00 to check in, review scoring guides, etc. This will give you time to learn more about the actual competition and how to score the projects and presentations. Snacks and drinks will be provided during check-in.
