Westminster FBLA Sets their Sight on State at District Leadership Conference

Members of the Colorado Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) held their District 2 Leadership Conference in Broomfield, Colorado on January 31st at the First Bank Event Center.  District 2, which is comprised of 12 high schools in the northern central region of Colorado, including Westminster High School, is one of 12 districts within the state. At the District Leadership Conference members are offered the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and competitive aptitude in mock-tests, attend workshops, learn about college and career opportunities, financial literacy, and gain lifelong business skills.

Westminster High School FBLA sent 18 members to challenge other competitors from the area in a variety of business and leadership events. Congratulations to all of our competitors:

In addition to these stellar student scholars, Westminster High School qualified for the State Leadership Conference to be held April 23rd – 25th at the Gaylord Rockies in Aurora, Colorado in these events: Yuliana De Lira Pinedo and Alany Rodriguez, Publication Design; Haley Khang, Publication Design; and Esau Gonzales, Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure.

FBLA is a national, student-led organization whose mission is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences. There are over 230,000 members worldwide. At Westminster High School FBLA is currently the only Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) operating to enhance the growth and development of all students in the Business Marketing pathway. All students enrolled in the Business, Marketing, and Business Applications and Capstone classes are expected to become highly engaged and contributing members of FBLA.
