Congratulation to our Health Occupations Students!

The CTE Department would like to congratulate the following students for their acceptance into the Centura Health Pre-Apprenticeship program: Jenica Berzoza, Jazmin Segovia Galvez, Jacqueline Rodriguez-Vazquez, Oanh Vu, and Genesis Blanco-Reyes. Only 16 students statewide are accepted into the program and this year 5 of those students came from Westminster High School. These students will have the opportunity to take a free college class and participate in clinical rotations at St. Anthony's North in a variety of health fields including Nutrition Services, Sterile Processing, Surgical Tech, Phlebotomy and Lab Tech, and Radiology.

All 5 participants are current students in our PLTW Biomedical pathway and some are also in the Health Occupations pathway. Through their experience in these pathways they have learned how to diagnose and track infectious diseases (a particularly valuable skill currently), anatomy and physiology, treatment of diseases such as cancer and diabetes, surgical techniques, and some have worked towards certification as a CNA. These students will graduate high school incredibly prepared to pursue both college and careers in the medical field. Congratulations!!
