Freshman Wolf Scores Big at FBLA SLC

Colorado’s Future Business Leaders of America Advisers, State Officers, and members worked diligently together and pulled off their first ever State Leadership Conference. Despite current socializing and congregating restrictions, the FBLA managed to salvage this year’s culminating state event. The FBLA State Leadership Conference was originally slated to be held at the famed Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, April 23rd – 25th, in Aurora, Colorado but the in person assembling was canceled in obedience to the state mandated stay at home order. Being the ingenious group of business people that they are, with the guidance of the State FBLA Adviser, Jen Girvin, the State Officer team was able to plan and execute the Virtual State Leadership Conference.

Westminster High School freshman, Esau Gonzales Garay, and local chapter FBLA officer, finished 5th in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure and is the first alternate to attend FBLA National Leadership Conference. The FBLA NLC was originally scheduled as an in person event to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah June 29th –July 1st but will be instead conducted virtually. In addition to his outstanding performance at the SLC and pending competition at the NLC, Esau is an outstanding academic student, manager at the Wolves Den School Store, FBLA chapter Parliamentarian, NJHS member, active in his church, and community service events. Esau previously took 1st place in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure at the Fall Leadership Conference and the District Leadership Conference. Esau is also recognized for lettering this year in FBLA as a freshman student.

Other members of the Westminster FBLA Chapter competing at this year’s State Leadership Conference include Alexander Zambrano, Personal Finance; Haley Khang, Publication Design; Yuliana De Lira Pinedo and Alany Rodriguez Ramos, Publication Design.
