Sunset Ridge Choir Sings National Anthem at CU Basketball Game

There were two reasons to celebrate the CU Buffs Basketball game against Eastern Washington on December 8 at the C.U. Events Center on Saturday, December 8.

One was the team's dramatic come from behind 60-57 victory.

The other highlight came before the tipoff as the Sunset Ridge Choir performed the National Anthem before a crowd of almost 6,000 people.

"It was really fun to be there,” said Gio Montes, adding, “I am inspired to go to CU when I grow up.”

It was also a memorable night for his brother Xavier. "It was exciting to watch the game. I loved to see the players play and to watch the cheerleaders perform," he said.

Dressed in black tops and blue jeans the choir made their school and district proud.

Principal Roger Vadeen and the rest of the choir will no doubt be following the team closely as the season unfolds. The Buffs are now 8 and 3 on the season with hopes of making the NCAA “March Madness” Tournament in March.
