Families Huddle Up for Success at Math Night

Tennyson Knolls Elementary parents, students and teachers pulled on their favorite football jerseys on Oct. 23 to spend the night together as they learned about football-themed math games to improve their math abilities. As families arrived, they grabbed a plate of food and each student received a gift bag filled with a set of dice, a pack of cards and a math game they could play at home with their parents.

Tennyson Knolls Principal, Heather McGuire, planned this event as a tool to support math test scores and to bring families together. “Tennyson Knolls is really the center of our community,” said McGuire. “We really want to make sure that our families are able to come together and learn who their neighbors are and learn who their kids’ teachers are.”

Math Night included special guest, DJ A-Rich from FLO 107.1 FM who played music for families and announced prizes that included gift cards from Elvis Cinemas, Skate City and other fun math gifts.
