Message from the Principal:

Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members,

Let me start by thanking all of you who have been following the 3 W’s; wear a mask, wash your hands and watch your distance. If we all work together, stay home and stay healthy these next two weeks, we can return to in-person learning on November 16th. We know that our students learn best when they are in-person with their teachers and friends so we are going to make every effort to make this happen.

Starting Monday, November 2, all classrooms will transition to remote learning. We will use the same link and schedule as we did when we were remote last week. Teachers will be sending out reminder emails to parents on Friday. Your child will be marked “absent” unless they attend the zoom meetings and/or complete work in Empower. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

ELC Principal

Meals during Remote learning

Nutrition services will be offering meals for students during remote learning. Meals are available Monday-Friday from 10am-11:30am at the following locations WHS, Ranum, Shaw, CSLA,  Fairview, Flynn, HP, Hodgkins, Mesa, The Met, Sherrelwood, Skyline, Sunset, Tennyson & HLHS Swim & Fitness (3290 W 76th Ave) and Westminster Rec Center (10455 Sheridan Blvd).

 Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher conferences is a great time to learn about how your child is doing in class. During this event your child’s classroom teacher will present data about how your child has been performing this year.  You will receive a packet of useful information about your child’s progress and specific activities that you can use at home to work on with your child. This will also be a great opportunity to ask your child’s teacher questions that you may have. All conferences will be held via zoom at your scheduled time.

Parent Coffee

Please join us as we hear from Kids Health Clinic. Nurses will be discussing the services offered at the clinic attached to the building. They will also discuss COVID symptoms, when to call a doctor and when your child should be tested. The parent coffee will be on Wednesday, November 11th at 10:00 via zoom

Late Start Days

Parents should have received an automated announcement from WPS about late start days due to weather.  If a late start day is called for the district, the morning session will be cancelled for that day.  Afternoon session will have a normal school day.

Illness during remote learning

If your student is sick, displaying any coronavirus symptoms or has been exposed to someone who has tested positive. It is critical that the school stay informed, even during remote learning.
