Shaw Heights Teachers Hold a Parade to Offer Students Support and Encouragement
On what turned out to be a gorgeous spring day, the staff from Shaw Heights Middle School got in their cars, rolled down their windows and took off to find their students on a parade route that traveled from just North of the middle school down to Westminster High School. Each car was decorated with words of encouragement ranging from, “Keep up the hard work!” to “All we need is love.”
Social studies teacher, Breanne Schwab organized the parade and recruited help from the Adams County Fire Rescue, Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Westminster Police Department to safely cover more than 4 miles of road. It turns out that teachers weren’t the only ones with words of encouragement as families stood on their front yards and sidewalks with their own posters.
