Full Court Peace Comes to Westminster

It was a Sunday of service as several Colorado schools and non-profits, including Jefferson Academy, Manual High School, Chatfield High School, Westminster High School Boys and Girls basketball teams, and Colorado Hoopsters, came together to paint the court of Shaw Heights Middle School on October 16. The service project called Full Court Peace started in New England and was brought to Colorado by Mark Sharpley, a basketball coach at Jefferson Academy. He also runs the non-profit JAM Basketball.

The Westminster High School athletic department collaborated with JAM Basketball to bring this project to Westminster to update the courts at Shaw Heights Middle School with fresh paint.

“These opportunities provide students with the ability to connect with one another from various backgrounds to complete a service-learning project,” said Gabe Trujillo, Director of District Athletics. “The project also improves the outdoor basketball courts for Shaw Heights Middle School.”
