New COVID Rules Allow WHS Class of 2021 to Graduate With One Ceremony
Because of the new COVID-19 guidelines, the Westminster High School class of 2021 will be able to graduate together in one single ceremony as opposed to two smaller events which was the original plan. The Tri-County Health Department, like most other jurisdictions, believes outdoor events can be safely held without limiting the number of attendees.
Graduation will be Saturday, May 22nd at 9 a.m. at Memorial Stadium. The ticketed event will allow each graduate to invite four guests.
Westminster High School is sending specific communications to students detailing ticket information, parking plans, and timelines for the day.
As of now, masks Will Not be required because the event is being held outdoors, but mask-wearing is still encouraged. If conditions change, alternate plans are being drafted to prepare for smaller ceremonies with fewer guests.
Hidden Lake High School will hold its graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 29 at Ranum Middle School at 9 a.m. Students are being notified about ticket distribution and timelines. Because Hidden Lake’s ceremony will be held indoors, health officials are requiring masks to be worn and students are limited to just two guests.
Both events will be live-streamed allowing families and friends who cannot attend graduation to watch the celebration live.
