Chef Chris Hill Named ProStart Teacher of the Year
The Colorado Restaurant Association has named Westminster High School Chef Chris Hill as its ProStart Teacher of the Year for his commitment to his students and the creation of the Wolf Bites Food Truck. The truck provides great-tasting food to customers while giving students real-life, on-the-job experience. It began operations this spring and will become a regular fixture at WPS events.
Hill jokes that his job is to, "Drive the truck and make sure it doesn’t blow up,” and says he leaves most of the decisions about menus, food preparation and costs to the students.
The ProStart program, operated with the support of the Colorado Restaurant Association, is designed to teach culinary skills to the next generation of students interested in careers in the food and hospitality industry.
