Pie in the Face Fundraiser at Fairview Raises $212 for Kids in Need
There’s nothing better than getting to pie your favorite teacher in the face, especially when you can simultaneously raise funds for kids in need this holiday season! That’s exactly what the students at Fairview Elementary did at the Pie in the Face Fundraiser on Dec. 7.
This all started when Fairview received a holiday tree from Have a Heart with decorative tags. Each tag had a gift listed for a child in need. The student council at Fairview decided to get the entire school involved by hosting a raffle to raise money for those gifts on their tree. They all shared one goal; to help as many kids as they could to have a great holiday season.
Students bought $1 raffle tickets for a chance to be selected to throw a pie in their favorite teacher’s face. The fundraiser brought in a total of $212 for Have a Heart to purchase Christmas gifts for kids in need.
"It is important to do a fundraiser like this to help people in need,” said Izzeyah, a member of the student council. “We can raise money together by each doing our small part.”
