It’s probably no surprise that when a snack cart filled with drinks, chips and candy rolls down the hallway of a school building, the excited students dig deep for an extra dollar to spend.

The Nibbling Dragons program at Fairview provides more than just treats. The students who run it have special needs in areas like socialization and mathematics and relish the opportunity to be the “Big Shots” in their building.

Teachers Rochelle White and Emily Jennings created the Nibbling Dragons program to help those students, who in turn are helping others to battle a deadly cancer with the money they raise.

It’s an extraordinary example of learning outside the classroom.
