Kindergarten provides children with opportunities to work, play and learn to share, accept, and respect individual differences, They learn to to express themselves and develop physical coordination and begin to work with language and general readiness for first grade. During the 2016-17 school year Westminster Public Schools will continue to provide a full day Kindergarten program at each school. Children must be five years old by October 1 to enroll.

To register children will need:

  • Up to date Immunization Record
  • A state issued birth certificate ( you will be unable to register your student without a birth certificate)
  • A valid proof of residency (acceptable proof would include: cable bill, valid driver's license, electric or gas bill, insurance bill, lease or mortgage receipt, phone bill,a state ID, tax bill, or a water bill).
  • All new kindergarten students will be assessed with a screening that has been developed by District staff. the assessment will take about a 1/2 hour per student to administer and provides information about academic readiness in the areas of development literacy and mathematics. It can be administered in English or Spanish, depending on the child's native language. When you register in August someone will call you to schedule an assessment time with your child.
